The Galveston Diet

Recommended Physicians

The Galveston Diet and Mary Claire Wellness receive many requests for doctor referrals that specialize in women’s health. Our Recommended Physicians program allows Galveston Dieters to recommend their provider to others. Our team then verifies each referral and lists them here for you!

*This is not a list of personal referrals from Dr. Haver but rather a collection of individual submissions and testimonials from women worldwide who have had an exceptional experience with their healthcare provider. Also note, the physicians on this list are not associated with The Galveston Diet nor Mary Claire Wellness and may offer differing advice. They have been listed solely as providers with whom our followers have had great experiences.

Dr.

Adam Wray

OB/GYN
Dr. Adam Wray offered me anesthesia for an endometrial biopsy after I had researched the procedure and looked at many reviews on the procedure and found that many women found the procedure barbaric and extremely painful.

Dr.

Adeeti Gupta

FACOG

OB/GYN
Dr. Gupta‘s clinic provides affordable healthcare to women in the New York area and Los Angeles. I love her office because it’s affordable care for women and is there if you need to go last minute. Her staff is always very caring and considerate. She offers menopause advice and a dietary plan. Since working with her for my perimenopausal symptoms I have felt so much better.

Dr.

Adrienne Rasbach

OB/GYN
I transferred to Dr. Rasbach’s practice after my former OBGYN retired. This also coincided with both the pandemic and me going through menopause. She worked with me for 6 months to get my hormones right, both virtually and in person, always responding promptly and listening to my symptoms to find the right combination. I can’t recommend her enough; she is kind, thorough, and really listens to you.

Dr.

Alexis Lipton

MD

OB/GYN
During my menopause journey I developed Lichen Sclerosus of the Vulva. It’s not rare during meno but of course not alot of studies and research. I was treated with an aggressive amount of Clobetesol, steroid cream which gave me Cushing’s Syndrome for 4.5 years and my doctor refused to acknowledge the obvious physical and mental changes. I switched to Dr. Lipton. Dr. L had awesome results with other women like me by using the Mona Lisa Laser. 4 sessions later I have my Vulva anatomy back and I no longer have Cushing’s. She treated me with compassion, sympathy and such amazing care. The procedures were covered with just a $20 copay per visit. Get help!

Dr.

Alexis Michopoulos

MD

Family Medicine
Dr. Michopoulos is unlike any doctor you’ve ever seen. Rather than treating the symptoms, she persistently asks “why” to get to the root cause(s) of any problem. She functions like a co-detective in the work of discovering what is going on with your unique ecosystem. Dr. Michopoulos holds her patients to a high standard and works just as hard as her patients to arrive at the most effective treatments and solutions. She is truly amazing to work with and undoubtedly can assist anyone in solving their issues and/or reaching their health goals.

Dr.

Alicia Wiczulis

Dr. Shea was extremely helpful after I had my radical hysterectomy at 49 and when I catapulted into menopause. She took the time to listen to all of my concerns and provided valuable solutions. We’re in touch every six months to see how I’m doing and to make any adjustments to treatment. She takes a holistic approach- body, spirit and mind to how menopause is affecting me. She saved my life.

Dr.

Allison Cook

She listened to all my questions and concerns about peri- and menopause. Proceeded with a plan to follow up scheduled at six weeks. Her nurse was also well prepared for collecting information.

Dr.

I’ve been to many other doctors and Dr. Polender was referred to me when I found myself looking for another Doctor. Love everything about her and the practice. She is at multiple locations.

Dr.

Amber Shamburger

OB/GYN
I’ve been a patient of Friendswood Women for over 15 yrs. Dr. Shamburger and the other providers have always exceeded my expectations. All of the providers are easy to talk to and I feel like they have my best interest at heart. They take the time to listen and make sure all your concerns are addressed before you leave. The short wait time upon arrival is a huge plus, too. I’m in and out for my well woman exams in an hour or less. Going to the doctor has never been so easy. Wish all providers were as pleasant to see as Friendswood Women.

Dr.

Amber Shemwell

OB/GYN
Dr. Shemwell takes so much time listening to patient’s issues, concerns, and really cares! Andrea Bushaw

CNP, WHNP

Nurse Practitioner
I am mid-50s and was experiencing multiple menopause symptoms. A visit to my primary doctor for my annual wellness exam in 2021 left me feeling like I had very few options, so I researched other providers. My first visit to Minnesota Women’s Care was in May of 2022 where I met with Andrea Bushaw. She listened to all of my concerns and laid out the potential HRT options available for my consideration. A full battery of blood work was run to determine a baseline for my hormone levels so that I could make an informed decision about my preferred treatment plan. I truly feel like I have a provider who is invested in helping me live my best life!

Dr.

Angela Langer

OB/GYN
Dr. Langer is educated on the latest with HRT and so supportive on hormones for longevity and mental health. It’s no surprise she’s very hard to get in to see, but she has also trained her nurse practitioner Sarah Womack who is also amazing and easy to get into. They take the time to explain all your options, educate you and understand your issues without making you feel crazy! Thank goodness we have this resource in our area!

Angela Panek

RN, MS, FNP-BC

Nurse Practitioner
Angela Panek was recommended by a friend. She is very well-versed in hormone therapy, spent so much time listening and understanding what I’ve been going through. She made suggestions and together we determined what made the most sense for my situation. She also, made it very clear that this wasn’t the end of the conversation. She will work with me to ensure that we optimize the outcome.

Dr.

Angela Rouse

FACOG

OB/GYN
Dr. Rouse has been my OB for 11 years. She has helped me during two pregnancies and now I’m into my 40’s and her attention and devotion to meeting her patients needs is unmatched. She listens and trusts her patients. She has seamlessly incorporated peri-menopause discussions into her appointments and makes sure I’m aware of herbal, medicinal and mental strategies to help guide me through my transition. I trust her.

Dr.

Ann Lutich

OB/GYN
I now have been receiving treatment from UTSW since 2002 upon kidney cancer. Since then every time I had an exam I would have another “ incidental finding” in breast or other causing me great stress and weeks wait to see a surgeon to which a surgeon wasn’t needed. My gynecologist on my last visit saw the thinning and new it would be very painful doing a Pap test. She immediately selected another tool so I wouldn’t be uncomfortable. She also educated me on estrogen and how new meds work. I should not be frightened about the outdated literature out there. My 3D mammograms are immediately read at their breast imaging center.

After joyfully delivering many babies, she now limits her practice to office gynecology. She has an interest in Premenstrual syndrome, perimenopause, menopause. She’s extremely knowledgeable and provides great care to her “pellet nation.” I’ve recommended her to lots of friends who are having trouble with menopausal symptoms, and every single person is a satisfied patient who feels 100% better. I have had zero menopausal symptoms since I had my hysterectomy.

Dr.

Billie Jean Pace

OB/GYN
Dr. Pace cares for three generations of women in our family. She is a very personal, warm and empathetic provider. She is extremely knowledgeable and cares immensely about her patients. She looks at labs and symptoms (not just labs) when deciding on hormone care. She only does womens health and does not practice obstetrics. I cannot say enough good things about her. I consider myself lucky to have her as my doctor. Her office is run well, staff is efficient and friendly and she does not have a turnover of staff which speaks volumes.

Dr.

Dr. Crandall cared for me for 10 years while I was going through horrible menopausal symptoms. He listened! I had to move to a Virginia and wish he was here.

Dr.

Dr. Bodon changed my life. After listening to my symptoms, she ordered the necessary blood work and found that my hormones, Vitamin D and B were bottomed out. We decided to try Bio Pellets and getting my D and B up. I started feeling 100% better with the bonus of losing 20 pounds in a year. So many doctors told me that I just needed to accept menopause and what goes with it. Dr. Bodon was a breath of fresh air.

Brandee Yarbrough

APRN, FNP

Nurse Practitioner
I had a total hysterectomy in July 22’ at 33 years old after years of issues as a last resort, per my OBGYN. After my hysterectomy, I had terrible menopausal symptoms. Eventually, I was referred to Brandee Yarbrough and I’m so glad I was! She found my issue with my hormones and has been working with me for months to help me regulate and treat my symptoms. She listens to me, makes me feel “normal” in my concerns I bring her and knows next steps on how to treat them. I know if I hadn’t found her, I would not be where I am today, which is on a path of healing and “normalcy”. Thankful for Brandee and her team! Go see her!

Dr.

Brendaliz Cabrera
